Asset and account inventory
1 min read
A practical way to prepare for estate planning is to create an inventory of your assets and accounts.
Think of it as a list of all your valuables (cash, property, stocks and bonds, insurance policies, collectibles, family heirlooms) and all the places (and login information1 for) where those assets live.
This information is incredibly helpful to your executor, administrator, or those dealing with your estate. They should be focused on mourning, not on remembering your high school mascot and the street you grew up on.

From a personal security perspective, we highly recommend a password manager (Apple and Google have versions built into most of their products).
Physical documents can be lost. Digital documents can be stolen.
And don’t even get us started on shared / common passwords! ↩︎
